Background
Professor Shaw has devoted her career as a clinician scientist to translating basic research findings to the clinic in the field of neurodegeneration, especially ALS/MND. She is a world leading MND researcher. Achievements span: basic science into disease mechanisms; therapeutic target identification; evaluation and implementation of new symptomatic and neuroprotective therapies. Her research discoveries have improved life-expectancy and quality of life for MND patients.
