Ass. Prof. Ka Wan Li
Position
Assistant Professor and Group leader of Neuroproteomics in Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam Background Ka Wan Li received his PhD degree from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1993, and serves as Assistant Professor on the same year. He pioneered the use of mass spectrometry and nano-separation methodologies for neuroproteomics research since mid-ninety. His current research focus on the characterization of protein nano-machineries that underlies synapse function and plasticity, and study synapse/tissue proteome changes in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. State-of-the-art quantitative proteomics techniques are employed, using both human post-mortem brain tissues from patients and healthy controls, and the diverse mouse models of brain disorders.
